La Redoute de Sablanceaux
In 1685, the Sun King’s most talented engineer considered this position to be the most exposed one of all the kingdom. in 1627, the Duke of Buckingham ordered 10,000 English soldiers to land on two beautiful sand beaches and La Pallice oceanic trench.
In 1862, the whole building was repaired so as to be used as a support for the powerful battery installed further east.
